Check out my latest visual poem “The Daughter’s Almanac” in the Beloit Poetry Journal. I wrote this during a bout of insomnia after the Atlanta Spa Shootings during March 2021, for which making art was the only refuge from this constant sense of psychological and physical danger. You can say that in my work, I’m trying my best to write my way towards hope.
I’m grateful that it was among the semi-finalists for the Adrienne Rich Award. Heartfelt congratulations to the winner Taylor Byas as well as the other finalists and semi-finalists for such exquisite and vital work!
